lookin to get a new recon . what to look for

any problems, things to look for. anything that i should know about. thanks

recons are good quads, i have no complaints about it whatsoever, only that i wish it was 4x4 sometimes happy shopping haha -Tyler

its an 06. do they have front disk?

no, they have hydralic drums, front and back, just have to make sure you adjust the front ones often so they stay working good

they are pretty durable and reasonably priced for what you get. my bro has a 98 model and it has been thru everything. only thing is that it used to have a prob when he did wheelies on it - it would cut out but its been fixed now. ive also heard that the ES models have more probs that the non ES so id stay away from them. others may have ES and it may be great so get what you want...but its $200 more.

The Recon is a great machine. Fun to ride, reliable, easy to maintain, etc. BUT.....if you don't need the racks or the big fenders for mud protection, get a 250EX instead!

The EX is based on the same frame and motor, but is a hefty 50 pounds lighter. It has better suspension, disc brakes, it's a bit wider so it's more stable, and has the "sportclutch" (like a Rekluse). We just sold our old Recon, and got a sweet new EX........

Actually, the front is hydraulic and the rear uses a cable lever.

ya my dad wants ot get it for my mom and sis to ride. havin the rack makes a nice handel for the person ridin double (not that anyone does taht) and for puttin stuff on. im tellin him go 250ex but hes payin for it not me

paulH- i am pretty sure that i read somewhere that the 2006 recons started doing rear hydralic drums as well as the front, but i am not sure, if you are positive then you are right and im wrong, my bad if i am
