using car engine oil in honda
#61
How many of you konw that sythec oil does not clean your motor? Dirt will not get picked up by sythec oils.
The breather on motor goes right back into the air filter, it reburns any gas that came from the crankcase.
Regular motor oil, will pick up dirt and the gases that sythecis won't.
How many of you that only change your oil once a year or twice ever have a motor apart that has a bunch of sluge in the bottom or the valve covers all brown and burnt on oil.
I have seen tons of posts and threads on here about this same thing.
I cann't convice you to do what's right, far as oil and oil change intervals. Sounds like all of you one time or 2 times a year guys or the ones that use CAR oil. Should be working for Honda or who ever, cause your just too darn smart!

I understand we're talking about using car oil in quads, but half of you guys are talking about what oil you have used in all your cars and trucks and lawn mowers. And how many miles your car has on it with a certain oil. All I'm saying is who cares, we're talking about oil in quads not cars. Pay attention.

i am talking about one oil for everything. diesel grade 15/40 in everything. every bike, every car every truck, gas or diesel engine.except detroit diesels strait 40 only for them.
chainsaw bar lube. dirt bike chain lube. ranchers 400AT engine/high-tech auto transmission! all geting the 15/40
i don't dont use asimbly lube when building engines. i just squirt DELO on the bearings , pistons , cam. lifters, head bolts, all the other parts as needed and put it together. never a problem.
mixed with diesel and squirted on stuff like WD40 even.
poured on pancakes , you name it!
i use napa brand ATF and any brand gear oil with a GL5 rating when messing with trany's and rearends. and chevron DELO 400 15/40 on or in anything else that needs oil. allthough i am curently running john deere plus 50 15/40 diesel oil in my truck now and i think i might just keep doing it. but the bikes will keep getting the chevron.

15w40 is ok downsouth in the winter, but in the north it pretty hard to get things started with thick oil in them and the temp is 0 degrees. I'll stick to what ever the manufacture recommends. I can't afford downtime in my business.
