The Rubicon's been out only 6 months and there are many enthusiastic posts from the new owners. About the only complaints I've seen are a few "cold start" posts. Honda's reliability is legendary and the Rubicon must be continuing this tradition, but there's always a few bugs to work out on a new model... so owners:

Who's had it back to the dealer to corrct a problem?

Any tranny problems to report?

High altitude or other performance problems?

What improvements would you owners like to see changed on the CURRENT model (besides the typical "wish list stuff" like bigger motor, disc brakes, full 4wd, etc, etc.)?

I've had my Rubicon for about 2 months and have put a little over 200 miles on it. Other than the two screws that hold the shift lever coming lose the first ride out I haven't had any problems. The screws were a simple fix that I fixed myself. I have ridden alot of atv's over the 13 years I've been riding and so far the Rubicon overall is the best machine I've been on.

I had frozen front breaks. Dealier said that honda uses cheap grease on the bearings, they repacked them with waterproof grease and didnt charge me a penny. He said that should fix the problem but I should still check them after running mud.

Owned mine for about 4 months, and have over 500 miles on it. Other than the shifter-**** screws falling out, no known problems yet. Heck, happily the notchy shifter has gotten smoother, and that was the only other complaint.

I know of one guy we ride with bought a rubicon and every time he rode it after 4 miles of riding the tranny would stop shift and go into limp mode where it goe 6mph just to get you home. Since then honda bought it back and he has a foreman 450 which he like a lot.

My friend work at the dealer all this happened at and after service said they repaired it they had us take it with us last sunday to see if it would hold up. We all ride 400exs raptors ect but took turns on the rubicon. What a caddilac of quads so silky smooth and plush- we even hit the doubles with it and the table top it fly good for a 4wd. 35 miles of riding and not one problem all day. Must have been a rare defect
