Default Kick Starter

The kick starter on my 87 250x swings out when I turn. I have a velcro strap holding it back for now. Anyone know what wore out, so it stays in place?

Thanks,

I'm not sure about the 250X but my 450R has a little ball bearing and spring inside the kick starter that pushes against the starter shaft. My kick starter fell off once and I lost the ball bearing and spring and the kick starter would swing out.

Thanks, Thats probably it. Someone else said something about me losing a ball bearing. I thought he was talking about how I ride

Default Kick Starter

anyone have this problem on an 05 trx 450r? I went to ride the other day and after idling for not even 20 seconds or so, the engine died. Now my kick starter will not budge and I cannot kick the pedal down. It is just stuck. People tell me my crank is shot. Only way to tell is to tear it down. I have also been told there are design flaws with the oem cranks. Anyone else hear of this or has anyone had this problem on their 05? I will need to call Honda and check for some recalls. Someone else told me their rod bearings caused their kick starter to lock up, too.
