What are you guys paying for your 420 Ranchers? I was quoted $5200 by my local dealer but found the above on Ebay. $4,747 seems cheap! Doesn't it?
The Ebay price sounds about right to me. The 4x4 ES model is going for just over $4900 OTD around here.

I just got mine yesterday, but in comparison to my 350 2x4 ,, the 420 has a lot more power, and feels very strong. It feels like I sit higher, but also it seems to ride a little bit stiffer. I also sprung for the camo model, and got it for $5099 out the door, for 420 ES 4X4 CAMO. It seemed llike a good deal. I have read on here about some problems with the Bridgestone tires, but mine came with Maxxis tires on it, the dealer had both tires on their Ranchers, I dont know why, but I think the Maxxis tires seem a little tougher and more aggressive. I think it is a large improvement over the 350 Ive been riding for 6 years now, I love it, and dont think anyone would go wrong getting one.

Hey I had my 420 for a month and it will started in any gear while holding the front brakes. Thisis a great quad. My last quad was a fourtax 300 and it was a great at the time, but the 420 is way better on handling and performance. It did not come with pull start and my local honds dealer did not no when it would become available. This quad should outperform any make quad in it's size and price.

QUESTION,

I have a 08 Rancher 420 ES, when I first start it up and its cold, it doesn't want to shift right away when I push the button. Once it warms up a little it shifts fine. Also, does anyone else's shift kinda hard into first or reverse?

If it is completely broken in, adjust the clutch. That might help....

My 07 has Maxxis tires on it, and I actually rather like them for everything but the snow (we don't have mud around here). My 00 Rancher 350 has the old Dirt Hooks, and even they aren't that bad either.

I did run ITP Holeshot ATR's for quite a while, but found that they kind of ruined the quad's sweet handling characteristics...big tires gave them kind of a clunky feel. Now, I just save the ATR's for the snow, and run the stock tires the rest of the year.

I have had my 08 420 Rancher 4x4 ESP for a week now and I love it. It has a lot more power than my 03 350 Rancher 4x4 ESP. It will pull the front wheels in 1st and 2nd. After having my 03 for the last 5 years all I wanted was more power and selectable 2wd/4wd and that is what Honda did. I have friends with big honkin 4x4's and my little 03 Rancher would do anything they would. I can't wait to see what my 08 can really do!!
