I have an 05 Rubicon with 3500 miles and about 450 hours. Would you all consider that high miles for that year?

Most quads don't have odometers so this is my best guess, but conservatively my 00 400EX has 15,000+ miles on it. That's a mixture of fast desert riding and tight semi-technical woods trails. Engine has never been touched except for routine maintenance. All chassis has has is a new set of rear axle bearings.

I have a buddy who has an old 300 utility, and I am sure he had me beat by quite a bit........

I deal only in utility and find that the average yearly mileage is between 500 - 5000 miles on machines I take in.
On high mileage machines - 25,000 - 50,000 - frequent oil changes are what got them there. That, and no rust - no problem in the drier states, Az, Tx - but a real problem here in Ireland.
The most common faults we see on the hundreds of machines we bring from the states are , in order -----
too few oil changes, worn bearings , filthy air filters (the atv's just can't breathe through the muck) , wrong tire pressures ( usually too high) , angle sensors (on ES), and rust.
But constantly we are surprised by how well some guys look after their machines.

In summer we traded an '83 three wheeler that the guy originally bought for $1000 and we allowed him $625.
He was a sheep farmer working wet land most every day - but he did all his own maintanance , kept it washed and oiled and under cover when not in use.
I figure that guy put up some 50,000 miles - but he was old, and he drove real easy.

My TRX 200 has about 7,500+ miles. It looks it too, but I am slowly brining her back. I now run 30 weight oil in it because she smokes some when warmed up.

I have a 2004 Honda Rancher Es 4x4 with 4300 miles 573.2 Hours. Best four wheeler! Still cranks right up. Oil change about every 250 miles or 50 hrs!

my '01 Rubicon died with just over 17,000 miles and 2000 literally trouble free hours on it

the trans went out - probably because it's last oil change was at about 12,000 miles

maybe 5000 miles is too far between oil changes - even for a Honda

glad it finally died or I wouldn't be riding my '14 750i Brute Force
