Default Rincon Questions

STOCKS,
your point is well taken with regards to buying a newer Rincon vs the older one like mine. The new ones do have some improvements like a larger EFI 680cc engine, and disk brakes.HOWEVER, that still does NOT undermine what it does NOT have compared to the OTHER manufactures of comparable size/ride TODAY.

I understand your position as well. If your not an avid mudder, are not going to be pulling out tree stumps ect, than maybe your right, the Rincon could be a nice ATV for someone like that.

There just cant be that much of a noticable differance in performance from a 2003 Rinny vs the newer and larger 680cc EFI one. What was Honda thinking by going to EFI on their flagship model and only uping the engine size by 30cc??? I've been told that you cant even really feel the differance in performance between the two?.A KQ has almost the same trail manners as the Rincon AND also comes equipped with ALL the extra goodies like POWER to spare and a low range, excellant downhill engine braking, and TRUE 4x4.....When Honda made their improvements to the Rincon, WHY did they NOT address these features? Want me to look at the Honda Rincon again? Give me a big bore EFI twin engine, use the same transmission BUT make it a 4-5 speed this time and give me a 4x4 LOCKER mode.Until than, Honda wont be getting any of MY $$...

SPELLING?
We'll just have to agree to disagree on that one. I know some VERY important folks in some VERY important positions that join in on public ATV forums and these folks dont worry a bit with regards to their spelling. Now if I were writting a documentary or something similier, than of course, I would spell check everything. And besides, I dont really give a damn what a few folks in a world wide public ATV forum think about me... My worth to the folks I represent has been well documented for the State of Michigan, my postion as a ORV Safety Director overshadows ANYTHING ANYBODY in here thinks about me--PERIOD!

Muddy,

Fair enough. I certainly agree that the Rincon isn't going to fit everyone's needs. In my opinion, I would give Honda first shot but that would not stop me from buying another brand. There are rumors of a twin coming in '08. I, for one, don't believe it because I think they have a good thing going. We'll see though. Maybe they keep the Rincon and release a larger version....(although, I don't see it in '08, but who am I to guess those things..)

cf,

Let us know what you bought!

Have a great day everyone!

I just bought a Rincon. Why? One simple answer should do it. When it came time to sell me the extended warrenty I said I didn't need one because I am buying a Honda. The dealer didn't even stumble to press any further. He just threw the form away and moved on to the next piece of paperwork!

Going on the first real ride Saturday! Only about 1.5 miles on it so far. Should get 100 or so this weekend if I have enough fun.

I am considering getting the new 680 Rincon, so far for the same price I can get the Can Am 500 Outlander XT, any opinions out there.

I have one! Go to the Bomb/Honda section here for your Outty 500 research and maybe a little Rincon info. Use rinconriders.com as your main place for Rincon info.

Thanks, will do. Basically I am a bit of a Honda fan, I have the 2001 Rubicon and have had great luck with it, its time to upgrade to a more comfortable ride and something a little sportier.. Having a hard time to detach myself to a Honda product, ha ha, but I am open to suggestions..

If you like your Ruby, your going to love the ride and comfort of the Rincon. In the 4x4 line-up, it's at the top of the list for trail comfort and sportiness while riding on the trails. A friend of mine who rode mine, described it as being on a Lazy Boy with wheels. Its a very comfortable 4x4 ATV for trail riding.

Tks, so far I have alot of positive input for the ride but have heard some negative input for low end torque since there is no low range(mostly from the competition).

How doe it compare top speed wise with the Rubi or the Grizz?

My buddy has the 660 Grizz, I can follow prety close, the Grizz tops higher but I am not that far considering that he has a 660 and the Rubi is a 500.

I am pretty sure I will go for the Rincon, I was seriously considering being a trader and getting the Outy 650, so far from the first three people I have talked to, they have thought of at least four recent Can Am riders who have had engine trouble, seized crank bearings.

Being a long time Honda owner, starting with my 1982 185 cc three wheeler and a bunch of others, never had any trouble with them, I think it would kill me to switch now and start spending time at the shop instead of riding on the trail, my Rubi has never been to the dealer since I bought it new, runs, sounds and rides like the first day I bought it.

Tks again

Another question..

I live in Canada but have found a dealer that sells new Rincon's from accross the border(3000.00 savings), I am just wondering about service issue, you know if there are any differences in Canadian built or Americam built Rincons, also I would not be alegible for waranty(bid deal its a Honda), I wonder if I would be alegible
for recall items?

I am just wondering if it will be hard to get parts from a Canadian dealer?

Tks
