Where is the air filter on a 400ex??

Default Where is the air filter on a 400ex??

Hold on, I dont get the steps. Whats the point of putting on oil onto the filter?? Thanks

It traps the dirt that would otherwise make it through the filter.
I take it this is your first atv.

Default Where is the air filter on a 400ex??

It is actually the OIL that traps the dirt, not the foam........the foam is simply something to hold the oil in place!

The foam is composed of lots of little channels that the air can pass through. As the air turns tiny corners in the foam, the dirt particles slam into the oil soaked fibers and and get stuck.

This sounds like your first quad???? If you don't know about air filters, there are probably lots of other things you don't know about, like oil changes, valve adjustments, chain maintenance, what fuel to run (92 octane), etc. Feel free to ask!

Thanks guys for your help. yeah this is my first quad, i used to have a motorcycle.
