I am a little new when it comes to ATV's and dirt bike talk. I keep seeing the word "Powerband" in articles when refering to the engine. Could someone please tell me what it means. Thanks

 

a powerband is a certain range in the rpms where you get the most power. four strokes usually have really wide powerbands (where theres power almost everywhere) and 2 strokes have sort of narrow powerbands (where you have to be at a certain rpm to have the most power). Somebody else can probably explain it better but I did my best.
