I was wondering what tire size would fit my 99 honda 300 4x4 in a 12" wheel. My stock tires are 1" shorter in the front than the rear. I would like to go to a 25" on a 12" wheel, is this possible?

you will be fine, i think the 300 were the best/bullet proof atvs ever. good low end too. you WILL lose some top end though! as far as a 12 inch rim you can pretty much get any tire you want. try a gator, or mudbug if you want a more aggressive tire(not to aggressive) or maybe dirt devil for a less aggressive tire.

Not absolutely sure, but I THINK THE 300 IS GEARED TO TAKE DIFFERENT SIZE TIRES FRONT AND REAR (??????).

You will need to find a owner's manual to confirm this, but I think this is the case...........

my 300 has stock rims with 23 incch front 24 back mudlights my dealer told me it will feel funny with same size all around and it goes thru mudpits 5 times better than stock and it did not take any power away

Honda now gears its 4wd's a little higher in back than in front (the tires are the same size front and rear). This takes the pressure off the front end until the rear end actually begins to slip a little. This insures lighter stearing that won't "fight" you when you are just cruising around.

What I think they did in the old days with the 300, is just put slightly taller tires on the back than on the front, and this accomplishes the same thing in the end.........

I'll add on to this one as well. I too own a 99 TRX300 4x4 and would like to put on some stock 06 rims from a Foreman onto my TRX. With all the 300s around I cant believe that someone hasn't done this before. The tires on the forman are F: 25x8x12 and R: 25x10x12. Perhaps someone has a pic or can say wheather these will work with no problems. Can anyone who has experience help us?............Thanks,

TRX300
