I took my quad completely apart last year and put it back together. I am doing it again this winter. My Alzheimer's has kicked in and I do not remember if there is a trick on getting the swingarm bolt out. I took off the nut and the bolt spins freely, but it does not come out. I tried to beat it out with a hammer and it won't budge. Is there a trick to it?

Funny thing is, I had the exact same problem with mine, what I did was had someone hold the swingarm up so there was absolutly no weight on it and put the nut back on the threads until it was flush with the end of the bolt, i's sure you know this trick. Then as I pounded on the bolt, I had the person wiggle the swingarm back and forth and it worked, but boy did I have to pound on it. Then once you get it to where you have to take the nut off the bolt, take an socket extension, or what we used to use at the shop, was an old swingarm bolt of a smaller diameter, and pound it all the way through to push the swingarm bolt out. It works everytime, but make sure to regrease it when you put it back in!

Mine was actually seized to the collar/spacer between the swingarm and the case mount. We had to beat the thing unreal. What we did was left the nut on to protect the bolt. So then maybe you can save your bolt. Good luck
