So I am guessing this was an 04/05 model with the hrc kit and the newer kits for the 06/07 come with a cdi I believe which will add to the power...around 50 sounds about right to me and that is a good amount of gain for a couple hundred.

 

04/05 s engines were different -yes. their HRC kit did improve things, but not as drastically.

however, the 06/07 models basically have the CRF450X engine and its not uncommon to get low 50's with THEIR HRC kit. it adds about 30-33% hp.

 

no you will not get 50 some hp with a hrc kit

you will have to do some kind of porting or polishing and if you do get 50 hp out of your hrc kit then it wont last long at all.......

 

yes i am only talking about the 06'07 , the 05's are a totally diff story. and yes you can get 50 horse to the wheels with the hrc kit. and i have about 80 hours on my hrc kit and it still fires right up. you just have to keep up on oil changes and air filter cleaning, and valves. and i dont have a light 80 hours on it either. went to coral pink for 4 days. glamis for 5 days, Cinders for 5 days. ALOT ALOT ALOT of drag racing, and riding twice a week. I would recomend the 06 450r to anyone and get the hrc kit and you will be stuck for life. either way honda rules and they have the hottest thing out there right now. ive seen alot of dyno runs with 06 450's with slip on pipe, air filter, and hrc kit put over 50 to the wheels. Im looking to do port polish, high comp piston, 488 kit he says he can get me over 70 + to the wheels. So belive it or not but its true.....

holy crap....thats insane. How long do you expect your motor to last with all that stuff? i mean before you have to do a rebuild and what would that consist of?

 

I have an 05 450r.The HRC kit made a huge difference.I haggled with my local dealer on the quad & HRC kit. I got the kit for $200 total.I got the quad for $6600 OTD. Both new.Shop around.

 

We got a sweet deal on my quad. It had 2 hours on it when we bought it, and we got it for $4600 otd with 2 year warranty. Also how much HP do you think my quads putting out?

 

Just a guess but i'd say probably around 43-44..

 

is it true that the 06/07 models are much faster then the 04/05s??

 

I dont know about much faster but they might be a lil bit faster.
