I am getting an 06 450 er with full yoshi system, pro design k and n kit and a jet kit. Do the 450's wheelie easy, I am a good rider, i could wheelie my 350 for about a mile. how reliable are the 450's? and are the valve adjustments hard to make?

The 450r's are really good at wheelieng actually and if you are trail riding you may want to consider losing a tooth on the front sprocket since it is geared high...The 450r is as reliable as how you take care of it...Meaning you must check the oil in both the tranny side and oil side to make sure you have enough, have a clean airfilter so you don't get dirt in the titanium valves(which K&N's allow anyhow so I wouldn't recommend them), inspect the bike and make sure the chain is tight and everything else is ready to go and you should be fine...Also if you get it make sure you change the oil when you get it and keep a log of when you serviced the bike and how long you have riden it(make sure you put the oil filter in the correct way or boom bye bye engine)...The valves aren't heard to do as long as you are mechanically inclined and have the correct istructions and torque specs...Wish ya luck and any ?'s feel free to ask.

I can wheelie my 450r from a dead stant still through 5th gear till nearly top speed... its amazing..... and maint is okay... I change the oil every ride and clean the air filter all the time... Valve adjustments arent too bad, you pull the hear cover off to check the clearance and its really only 4 bolts... you can find instruction on the net... real easy

I finally got my 450r, I love this thing so much. I would never ever go back to a raptor 350, this thing is better in every category. Plus We ended up getting it for cheaper than I paid for my raptor 350.

nice man glad you like it. welcome to the family. i love my 06 r. one thing man get the HRC kit from honda, it DOES NOT void your warranty and then you will be blown away even more. come with a rev limiter, cam, remove air box lid, new jets, and header pipe. the cam is out of there 450 dirtbike. it makes a world of diff. let me know man

how much is the HRC kit, im just wondering? If I were to get it, it wouldnt be for a while. This is a lot of power to get used to coming from my 350.

before the kit your bike is 35.5 horse power, after the kit you will be 45-50 horsepower to the wheels. i have seen alot of dyno runs where the 06 with the hrc kit is putting 51.5 53 horse power and that is with the hrc baffle and stock air filter. i tell ya save up and get that kit its about 350 at any dealer. i payed a little less then 200 for mine, dealer discount. let me know if you beat up on those other quads. pm me if you have any questions

A 450r wont put out 50+ hp with just a HRC kit. A CRF hybrid is only putting out about 51hp and the trx motor is far from the crf motor. If you want to see 50+hp you need cams/port/high comp piston and full exhaust for the 450r.

I seen a dyno ofa 450r with 14.5:1 compression, 577cc , Ported, HotCam stage 2, full exhaust and no air box lid and aftermarket filter and it only pumped about 52hp

haha man that suxs for them, i know a guy out here he built a 05 with port polish Cam, high comp piston and 488cc and he was dynoed at 68 to the wheels. i have many dyno runs of 06 450s running over 50 horse to the wheels. man the hrc kit comes with a cam, full pipe and it already has a high comp piston. so i dont know who your mechanic is but maybe you gotta take a gander out to az and find some real fast bikes. he also has a 250r honda three wheeler running alchohal putting 104 horse to the wheels and a banshee running 110 horse to the wheels.. so maybe you should do some research or come out to az and watch him run his quads on a dyno.
