shocks and springs
#2
If you're wanting to take the spring off the shock, here's what you do:
There are two rings on top, one is jammed against the other. Use shock wrench or a big screwdriver and hammer and loosen top ring(It has notches on both).Unscrew both rings and take completely off. Spring is now loose as it will be.There is a plate with slot in it, it will need to come off. If you have someone to help, take two screwdrivers and insert them in between first two coils and push down, Have someone slide the plate(retaining plate) out letting slot slide past shaft. May require alot of arm pressure, so be careful. Once you do it once, you can do it blind-folded. A good vise would be great to hold shock. It's easy.
