My swingarm bearing got real loose last weekend, finally got the parts on Saturday and I don't know how to dis-assemble it! I removed the tires, hubs, rotor, caliper. I don't know how to remove the big nut, threaded sleeve, and rotor hub, then the axle will slide out. Please help, I want to ride tommorrow badly!!! Thanks

you need to loosen the 2 big nuts on the right side of the swing arm carrier, use 2 pipe wrenches to loosen them but they are left handed thread so turn them clockwise to loosen them, then turn them so they move closer to the axle carrier and youll see a snap ring on the right that you need to remove the turn the 2 lock nuts out towards your right tire and it will come out.as for the caliper mount there is a sanp ring you need to remove as well which you will see after you pull the rotor/hub assembly off.

if you have trouble losening it, heat it up really good, and i suggest you get a new axle lock nut now, b/c after you losening it for some reason at least on my friends and my quads it never stays tight for long no matter how tigh you tighten it. loctice works good for awhile though

Don't use a pipe wrench on it. That wrecks stuff. I went and got a couple huge crecent wrenches from Northern Hydraulics. They were el-cheapos but they work great. Both wrenches together cost about $40. Well worth it. I use them and the lock nuts stay tight for me. When I used to use a pipewrench on my Blaster or 350X, they would get deformed or something and they wouldn't stay tight. I also took a 5"x24"x1/2"thick chunk of metal and drilled out the rim bolt pattern. Then I stick it to the hub so I have some leverage. Trying to wedge a wood block through the sprocket, holding the brakes, putting a socket on the axlehub nut, and cussing usually won't hold the axle well enough. You may not have to worry about it while your quad is fairly new, but after a couple years the threads start to corrode, and gum up.
Are you changing the axle bearing or the swing arm bearing? You don't NEED to pull the axle to do the swing arm. But, it won't hurt to take everything apart anway, Honda didn't grease mine well enough at all. I just assume they are all under lubed.
Since it is a new quad, it is probably not seized. Don't use heat unless you absolutely have to. You will probably melt the dust seals, it don't matter if you are changing them anyway, just beware of over using a torch.

Whatever you do, don't forget those are left handed threads, if you herniate yourself, you won't be riding for a while

If you don't have the Honda shop manual, I recommend getting it. It will help a lot if you are new to do-it-yourself-ing.

Thankx guys finally got her back togeather. It was a pain though. The side of the carrier, where you grab to tighten the chain in half missing!! The bearings came apart and ripped everything up with them. It took a lot of time but its all back togeather, sometime in the future I'll prolly get a carrier for it, thanks for your help!!!!
