about the 400ex
#1
Well I have been constantly debating what to get for my next atv. So after many long days of research and watching videos of each atv on youtube , im leaning towards the 400ex. Im coming off a 2001 Arctic Cat 250 4x4 utility quad and need something with better speed and accleration. I need a reliable quad , something i will not be rebuilding the engine every year. I live in a field with woods that surround it so mostly trail riding. I will be buying used and probably add some aftermarket parts later. I need an opinion from an owners stand point , Will this quad meet my requirements?

400ex is the quad for you, no doubt.
They are-
1. Reliable
2. Fast (compared to a utility)
3. Modable
4. Great trail/field quads
5. If you like wheelies or think you will like wheelies this quad is definitely for you.

if you're buying used, you will not beat the reliability of a honda. If it's been abused it will probably still have more life left in it as opposed to if it was some other quad. If you're buying new, I'd say most manufacturers make them all pretty good anymore. But as I have said before, any poser with money can buy a fast new quad. You might be able to get your hands on a used EX for between 2-3 grand, and with a few hundred well-spent dollars, you will have a quad that you built to suit your own preference. Plus you will not have to look very far for a used 400ex in that price range.
