I was in the same perdicament as you. I would say to save that money until you have more. Either your going to buy a fourwheeler for 1000 and not like it..then your out 1000$ or you can keep the money (use it on something if you need it) or save up for a little nicer of a fourwheeler. Work for it.

I'd save up some more money and get a used blaster if you know how to use a clutch

This is just my opinion, but if you saved about another $500 it would give you many more options. here are a few. Remember these will all be late '80's models. Quadsport,230E,250x,mojave,blaster,trailblazer. A little less sporty,trailboss,200sx.Don,t give up,look for a while and you should be able to find a good machine for this $. I have a 250r,350x, and a 2 place trailer all for less than $3000.

I've seen a ton of people selling kawasaki mohave's for about $1500 which is a quad that is great for a beginner and enough power to keep you excited when you get used to it.

i'd go with the 250x there a great all around ride for beginners but can be setup to run with the more experienced rider. you can find them in decent shape for $1000 - $1500.
learn first--then take chances...ride hard but not over your head.

Hey, I live in Knoxville TN and maybe we can go riding whenever you get your quad. I would suggest saving $500 more, and then you can get a great LT250R or a excellent 250X. The 250X would be nicer for riding around here. I have a 300EX modded just about to the max. So if you ever get one and want to go riding e-mail me at Oxking72@aol.com Later
