Hey, Hey now I hear alot of ignorant comments. I raced 5 times in Am on my all stock 2001 400EX fully spark arrested and this was my first year. To begin with I will start off with the DS650 because susposably common sence would tell you that 250 more cc's would make some thing faster, it would almost seem that untill you see how heavy they are. Second race off the line I beat the DS650 by about four or five 4-wheeler lengths in about a 100 yard whole shot, and the worst part about the race was watching him land off jumps on tape with all that weight. Now we can more on to the Banshee. Now this is suppose to be faster because a 350 Twin 2-stroke. I have never rode one but my first race there wasnt one ahead of me and I am looking at the pictures right now to prove that, if i ever get a scanner I will send it to you. What else was the 400EX slower than? Ohh yeah the LT's thats a joke, they dont even race them. And I dont want to hear no talk about a scrambler either. They are nice same with all the new quads but its not a comparison. The Raptor 660R is suppose to be competition with the 400EX. I raced one and beat him out of the whole and overall, but he was just out for fun and to see how it feels and said he wasn't out for competition. But what I do know is Yamaha declined the oppertunity to race the 400EX with the Raptor 660R for publisity purposes, so you can get what you want out of that. Now the legendary 250R's. Amazing quad, the 400EX was made based after the 250R. All the pro's race 250R's and some race 400EX's and there is no Banshee's or DS's in there. I got 3rd and 4th out of the whole and you know the 3 guys who beat me were on 250R's. The thing is they all normally have ALOT of money into them, and I stress alot!! There is the facs I have for you and can back them all upall the way, so was your cousin right? No, but the people who say that there are alot of things that are faster were definitly not right either. I will be getting a 2002 raptor when they come out next year and can't wait to get on one and feel the comparison.

we must forgive him of his immaturity. No respected mature rider would ever find every little way to bash 400ex's. And yeah, people are gonan be like "get out of the honda forum".
When people say this, quadfather even feels more invited as he is recieveing attention. I don't know, maybe he needed a hug when he was little.
So i am here to defend quadfather, and to tell others not to pay attention to his biased comments.

 

How is answering someones question Bashing? He asked what quads would be faster than another quad, I told him.

 

TheQuadfather you notice that to every time you talk about your machine and someone elses.
For some reason they think your bashing them even if you compare.
Thier the ones who are bashing cuz a lot of the times I get written back "you cant use my machine and your machine in the same sentance".BLAH! BLAH! BLAH!

There is no way a lt250 can beat a stock 400ex i beat a modified lt250 bored .80 and i even gave him a 10 foot head start and did a wheelie through 3rd gear so dont tell me that a little lt250 can beat a 400ex. And i beat him by atleat 3 quad lengths in a 100 yard or more drag

fact is, you can't believe anyhting anyone says, about quads being better than another, and you can rarely trust magazines. Everyone will have their own opinion about any quad, and you two seem to be the ones who voice their opinion the most. And where you you voice it?? In the forum that is made for the manufactor you dislike.

some are you posts are informative, but the ones where you want to bash the 400 just arn't. Topics like these are also very productive.

I feel that you are very aware of the 400's capabilities, as witha ny other quad but dislike honda for some odd reason. Maybe your honda generator blew up or something.

However, if you disagree, and still feel that the "better quad" is based upon facts published in a magazine then the scrambler 500 has a slower top speed than a 400ex, according to an older issue of ATV SPORT.

I get the same cr*p from you guys as does quadfather, you think your allmighty 400ex's and raptors can outperform the scrambler with ease. Let me tell ya the numbers are'nt that far apart.
And the scrambler "400" can beat the 400ex in a drag on pavement.
I'll stick to my old outdated polaris that has the same horsepower ratings or better and cost less than your new "RACE QUADS".

When was I ever bashing your or anybodys machine for that matter. You all can make comparisions but when I try to it all of a sudden becomes bashing.
For that matter don't even bother mentioning 400ex and DS650 in the same topic, never mind the raptor.

I have nothing against Honda. I own two Honda generators, a Honda powered pressure washer, a Honda powered airless sprayer, and am currently considering buying a friends used 2000 400EX.
