400ex shoot out against ?

The engine is all POLARIS!!!
I bet there is a substantial amount of aftermarket in that tranny, engine, and in the form of bolt on's.
That machine could be the future of polaris sport atv's.
That could be said of any of the race machines for any manufacturer.... Doubtful in all cases...

I never said the engine was'nt modified, You also cant tell me that the engines on those banshees were'nt modded up either.
Honda is known for it's race quads as is yamaha and suzuki. When have you heard of a polaris race quad, don't bother thinking cuz you have'nt.
I dont know about you but for a company that does'nt get into atv racing, I think thats a very impressive polaris "race quad".
Once again I'm not bashing anyones machine.

I hate to jump in but I must relay my own personal limited experience on the stock quad drag race wars (which means nothing after the first turn, by the way).
I have two buddies who I ride with all the time and drag races are a part of every ride. I have a 87 250R all stock, one friend has a 99 400EX all stock, and another friend has a 2000 Polaris 500 2x4. I outweigh both guys by 80 pounds but I am dead even with the 400EX until I get into sixth gear and slowly pull away. The Polaris loses by so much it isn't even close. I would say that by the time I hit sixth he is maybe ten+ bike length behind. It is the SAME THING every weekend except that now the Polaris guy just watches. Hey, maybe that 400 two stroke is faster but it better be WAY faster to even hope to run with an EX.
I am super-impressed with the 400EX. It is alot easier to ride than an R and is more forgiving. In my opinion my R slides better but the EX hooks up better. If I didn't already have my R I would not hesitate to get a 400EX.
The only thing cool about a Polaris that I have seen is that it is American made although the engines are made in Japan.
I am sure I will get slammed by all the pro-polaris guys on here but hey, I am just relaying my own personal experiences. Besides, you shouldn't get too p!ssed off by what somebody says on the internet.
BTW - I have never raced a Banshee but I rode one the other day on pavement and it seemed to me like it would probably smoke my 250R. I wouldn't want one, but it sure seemed fast.

I do need to throw this in: that page with the Polaris race quads (that Scramdaddy put up) is pretty cool. They look pretty majorly modified but I am impressed with the way that thing looks. I have never seen one taken to that extreme.

87r you've straightend everything out, You put each quad in its place, and it all makes sence.
Complimenting the polaris quad also helped too.
But the 400 scrambler has the 400ex but not by much.
