rubicon carb spring cutting
being and old retired f..t, i was sittng in my garage yesterday, bored, stareing at my '05 rubicon and decided to cut the carb spring like have read about on this forum. i have always felt pretty consevitive about modifying my honda as i even ordered some new maaxis big horn tires last week and settled for 25's all the way around because thats the stock size it came with. anyway, i cut the spring 8 coils, put the grouped springs part on top to lid post and i was really suprised when i started it up. no increase in H.P. of course, but what a difference in response. for all you guys that are consevitive like me, try it, you will like it and like some one said on this forum, "its free".
i was wondering also, has anybody ever went beyond the limit of cutting to many coils and how did it act? it seems to me, if the spring was weaker than allowed, you might have a idle problem first, and mayby eratic wanting to run full bore all the time with full vacuum. (the throttle sensor might be a little confused to, i dont know.)
