My comment wasn't against him removing the s.a. Somebody told him to cut the exhaust off. That was where I had an issue. An engine needs some backpressure to run correctly. It will run like dung without an exhaust. When you turn off a motor, there is a reversal of flow in an exhaust. Small, but enough to suck a cold charge toward the exhaust port. The less exhaust pipe he has the easier it would be to damage the valves. I'm done discussing this with you bunch of yah-hoos.

 

I think it is better to race with a quiet muffler. I noticed when I was racing, and everybody else had piped quads, I could hear them coming up behind me! I would then just ride hard enough to stay ahead!

i think if oyu want to make it louder cut off the muffler and if you have a wielder wield a pipe on there and figure out enogh backpressure,,,,, that will be loud

all that exaust systems do is take the gases to the back of the quad

just make a really small pipe and close teh end of it a bit for backpresure and it will be crazy load
