Default 2006 RUBICONS DONT LIKE MUD ?

Any recommendations for a clutch spring kit on a 06 rubicon 500? I noticed when I get into DEEP mud my engine rpms get kinda low , Even in low gear .(deep mud by my house is only @ 2 feet or so)and I know this is only a PUDDLE to some of you !LOL ! . Sometimes it worrys me because I dont think the tires are going to keep me spining . I know that EPI makes a HIGH STALL , a performance and a economy kit ,but I not sure which one to get. I already have 26inch MUDLITE XL's .I plan on adding a hmf ,K&N and a jet kit also. ANY other advice would be appreciated.

It sounds like something is wrong with it. Everyone says a Rincon is not a mudder but I can get in it up to the fenders and I have 27s and I can spin em. Your low gear is lower than mine.
Have you ever checked your spark arrestor? I got mud in mine once and did not check it for a while. When I took it out it was almost completely stopped up with what looked like carbon. It just baked the mud into it and lost some power.

I used to have Mudlite xl's on my rincon. Although it did spin them ok in the deep mud it did bog down when it got really nasty. I figured teh tires were too agressive and did not clean out well. They like to dig. I then went to swamp lites and it was like a night and day difference. It has no problems at all spinning and I can even get it in 2nd gear. The swamp lites float more, clean out very well and dont dig down deep. 26" mudlite xl's are deep and they really dig. Thats why I changed. I could not be happier. I have all my power and it really goes good throught the deep mud without a problem. Now Im gonna try some big hornes when these wear out.

I have 06 Rubicon with same tire package. I was having the same issue. One of the guys in here told me to pull top off carb and clip about 11 twists off the carb spring. It helped with the feeling like my tires were going to stop spinning. When I hit the gas it will spin the tires as much as I want in the thick mud...

Also, are you running in low ES or low auto? Mine will bog down in low auto if the mud get pretty thick.

I am running it in auto low .It does get them spinning, it just takes a second or 2 to build up some rpms .I think next time I'll put it in ES so I can hold gears or downshift when needed .Thanks for the advise everybody.

Hey baldheadedfreak, I tried something this afternoon just to prove this point to myself. I hook my winch up and intentionally bogged myself down in the sand and mud. With my 06 Rubicon in low auto I could not even make it turn the tires over to try and get out. I put it in low es and it pulled itself out without the winch... Just had to make sure it was not just my imagination that the ES actually does have more torque. :-)

yup try low ESP as mine also doesnt shift down fast enough in auto mode when I instatly hit deep mud or if im cruseign on the flats then quickly hit a super steep sand dune, if i put it in ESP, i can click down to 2nd or 1st and keep going with the engine redlined at all times

JRM is right. If you leave it in D1 or D2 it will shift up on you as soon as you let off the throttle, it may bog once it shifts up. Try ESP in Low.
