Default 04 Rancher AT issue

Ok the deal is I have like 500hrs and 3500 miles on this Rancher AT and it has been a very reliable ATV. Today I was riding in the yard following my daughter on her mini quad and it just died. I consulted the maunual and checked the fuses. Sure enough, I had a blown 30 amp main fuse. Pulled out the spare and popped it in. Rode the rancher down the driveway and back and on the way back it did the exact same thing.I tried a smaller fuse just to get it over to wash it and it was fine. After washing it, (my dealer complains when atv is dirty and I bring it in for service) the fuse was blown again. I went to pop in another fuse to get it loaded onto trailer, and the fuse blows as soon as you popo it into place. Any guesses as to what could be shorting out? This thing has been ridden hard and through alot of mud and always performed well. It had been sitting in my trailer for about a week since last ride (enclosed). I pulled the plastic and visually inspected the wiring and nothing looks out of the ordinary.

you have a short period. start following the leads from the 30 amp line. is this the main wire going to the battery, simply follow it to the battery

didn't think of this, very possible if not a wire short. haven't heard of a failure of this though on a honda rancher yet. check wires then go to this, this can also be tested before replacement

not sure why your even asking here, if you have a warranty. let them figure it out

I was just curious as to what it may be. I am taking it to the dealer tomorrow.

Ya if you have extended warrenty, why wouldn't you take it in and have in FIXED FOR FREE. I know if it's a simple fix hey go for it. my 2 cents

I dropped it off today and they re pretty sure that it has a short somewhere in the wiring. They said that if it is damaged from abuse I pay for it and if it is a flaw from honda then warrenty will take care of it. They said they should get to it in the next couple of days. I just wanted to know what people thought may be the problem. It was Sunday yesterday so I couldn't take it to dealer yesterday.
