i have heard many good things about this kit. i was wondering how much people have spent on their mods, and how they turned out. if anyone has some hp numbers that would be nice. how are they compared to a 440? i would rather have a snappy quad, i dont need the speed.

This will be mods in mid Janruary

10.8:1 JE piston $100
WB Rev Limiter $100
xr400 cam $100
Lectron Carb $250
Bored to 416 $40
Port and Polish $225
3 angle valve job $50

the prices of the parts comes from one of my sponsers and he gave me 15% off of everything. So prices will run slightly higher probably.

i took the cheapest way, and stillg ot some noticable power

piston 10:8:1 JE - 130
gaskets - 30
bore job - somewhere areound 50 or 60, i forget

as soon as i put a cam in this bitsh, it's gonna move. It moves in the mid range now, but probably only gave me like 4 mph on the top end

love mine. piston is 130, gaskets are 30, and the xr400 cam from servicehonda is 110. made a big difference.

I ordered all the parts for a 416. I got an JE piston 2mm over, 11:1 compression, and a cam from TC racing, and gaskets. I put it all together today, but it won't start up. It is in a cold garage, so I'm wondering if I should warm it up in a warm one. Then I thought I might have the timing of 180 degrees, but it still won't start. I don't know what to do next. I think I put everything together right. Did anyone else have this problem. Maybe I'm not trying to start it enough. It should start up fairly quickly though. I don't see what would make it start so hard. Any help would be appreciated. I have rebuilt one before, so this isn't my first. Please help.

Got fuel right? Turn you fuel switch to Reserve the gas pulls harder. See if anything happens then. Also use your choke of coarse.

If you replaced the rev limiter with a white bros. Install your stock one and try to start it.
I had to send mine back three times before I got one that would start my quad.

Good Luck !

I had the same problem with my White Bros. cdi. Big piece of crap in my opinion. i'm gonna get a Sparks or TC Racing cdi box.
