New 07 Honda 250 TRX EX
Hello,
Just came back yesterday night from my riding at "El Mirage" and it was so much fun!!!!!!!! Hey Ryeguy1 I jumped on my wifes suzuki and both bikes felt really good. I am glad I got the 250's for us cause it was plenty of power for us new riders. I honestly could not tell the differnce on the two. I just like my honda cause Iam just used to the clutch option!! I dont think I ever got the chance to open up the thorttle, I think that the fastest I got to go was up to 4th gear and that was really fast. Hope this helps out!

Lefty-
Thanks for the info. I sat on both 250s yesterday and liked the Honda better ... seemed like the tank felt better on the legs and I had better sight off the front end. I was glad because, I was leaning toward the Honda in the first place.
Has anyone heard of a National rebate program? The dealer said if I pay MSRP and dont take the $600 cash back offer, in 47 months I get back $2500 as long as I remember to request it in a certain time frame. I guess alot of people forget to file their claims in time or lose their paperwork, and thats how they make their money. But man, this makes a $3800 bike for $1300. This is not done through honda, but another company(working with my honda dealer) who has been doing this for 6 years. Almost too good to be true. Let me know if you heard anything good or bad.
Regarding places to ride ... Looking for some quad camping trails in the sierra nevadas. An area we can load up some gear and ride back 10-30 miles and camp and fish.
Thanks.

Welcome to the world of ATV riding.
Im sure you will outgrow the 250 in a year - and your boy will be ready for it
As for riding areas - we used to live in glen avon (riverside county) back in 83'-89' - and there was actually an ATV club called riverside ATV club. We went all over -> dumont, el mirage, azusa canyon, glen helen, (imperial and pismo of course - if your a dune nut) and the best was Lucerne Valley / Johnson Valley. 10 million acres of open desert (well - it seems like 10 million). Its just up 15 off of hwy 18.
That was before all of those 'enviornmental sensitive area' signs, but it is still awesome. Just don't run over any desert tortoises. (I actually did once by accident on my cr250, went back and he was fine, just scared - those guys have serious body armor)
See you on the trails.
Hey reconranger - does Corva still not allow trikes in any of their events?
That has always turned me off about them - back in the 80's - it was our trikes that supported them.

We are in the Tahoe/ Truckee area near Hwy 80 and 50. Also close to Hwy 89/ Sierraville and Hwy 20/ Nevada City.
I am aware of locations you park and camp and ride at the same spot, but would like to find some lakes or streams you could ride the quads back into that may be more restrictive to cars.(fishing is always better when its not as accessible to the masses!)
