Maybe someone with a 200sx will know what I'm talking about but here it goes...I need to take out the rear axle to replace the bearing(s) and fix the rear brake...I have got the first nut off on the right side of the axle(the small nut) and I cant get the other nut loose which is the bigger and wider one...

I have used a pipe wrench but it slips, I have used wd-40 to spray on it...now I am worried that the chain or sprocket will brake because I have to put it in reverse to hold the axle from moving...will this affect it??...can anyone help me to get this nut loose??

My 300EX is the same way, I have to replace the rear axle and everything. The way the shop told me to do it was with a welding torch, and at the same time have someone jumping on the pipe wrench. =) it is not a simple task.

once u get your wrench on the bolt take a long metal tube that is hollow in the middle and slip it over the wrench and see if that will give u enough torque to get if off. if that does't work take it to an automotive place and have them take it off with an airwrench.

You should never use a cheater on a wrench. Wrenches and sockets are designed for their size and the amount of torque you can put on them. Thats a quick way to break your wrenches and get peesed off at the quad and youself.

I allready tried that hollow pipe thing...that was the first thing I tried.

I'm going out to the shop right now to heat it up and see if I can get it off....the pipe wrench we have is about a 1970's...LOL, so I don't care if it gets broken.

I just got in and the nut wouldn't budge.....Am I doing the right thing to get the axle out??...by taking the big wide nut off the axle??, that is the one that's giving me trouble.
