Sorry, but an 80 will pull away from your Warrior without much troube.

You obviously don't know much about power to weight ratio's do you?
and have no torque whatsoever.
LOL, keep diggin that hole! I guess if you don't know how to ride a 2-stroke a slow Warrior would outrun a CR85. Ride the thing right and they' get up and get, even with a big boy on it!

I'm guessing your one of the riders who buys powerbands as an upgrade? School must be out early this year.

Man you really don't know what your talking about. Go race a 80 then you can talk, they arnt what everybody talks them up to be. I know they have a way better power to weight ratio but they only make that power for such a short time and have to shift all the time to keep it up there. But yea until you have acctually raced one you really shouldn't be talking about it. Power to weight ratios arn't everything.

The 400ex is a 4 stroke and the cr85 is a two stroke, so while the 4-stroke is busy making the piston go up and down....the cr85 will be saying bye-bye and flinging dirt all over the 400......It's my story and I'm sticking to it

My old lightly modified 2000 4-stroke ttr 225 could keep up with a 400ex with my 185# frame so I think that 130 # kid on a 2-stroke will smoke one

I would say that the 400 has it. The cr will, without a doubt, get him off the start, but the 400 has a higher topend, and enough midrange power to beat a cr. I agree with AC in this case. Drop a front tooth and i think the 400 easily beats the cr. .... my 2 cents.

Hmmmm, considering I used to race them, I owned one, and my buddy a mile down the road uses one as a play bike, I think I have you covered junior.

LOL, these kids on here sure are good for entertainment at least.

ok, so why do you think the 85 takes it? I want to hear the reason you think the 85 will win.

Well, for one, it would be much easier if we just went out and ran them, but........it's not like we all live down the road from each other. And two, if you've been around these machines, it's just common knowledge.

The best way I know to explain it by my keyboard here, is yes 80-85cc MX bikes do only make power in a small RPM range, but if you know how to ride machines like these (same as 125's), you can keep them in that power range until they top out. They will prolly top out roughly 10mph less than a 400ex, but it will more than likely reach lets say...50mph quicker, or at least pretty close.

I know from just racing down the fields here locally that a RM80 and a KX80 will outrun a 300ex with ease, while I'm not positive it will outrun a 400ex, I am postive that it will at least be close. Heck, I think a KX60 that we goof around on will run with a 300ex.

And if you guys have ever been to a MX track, you will see some experienced 14 year olds on 80's passing some guys on big 450's down the straights. Granted those kids are flyin gout of the corners, and in a drag the 450 would stomp it, but the point is these bikes are no slouches like some of you seem to think.

I never said that 80's are slouches, and yes it would be easier to just go out and race them. I know the 2-4 stroke comparison as far as powerband goes and accel. sorry, but i simply disagree with you as far as this particular drag goes.
The 400 Takes it.

Let me ask you this MJM, do you actually believe this if the rider rode the machines right?

And I'm not suprised by your answer, considering you own a 400ex. lol

And here are some numbers for some of you that don't seem to understand, look these up before you even try and argue.....

A CR85 puts out roughly 24 horses, a stock 400ex puts out around 28 hp. Now you figure a 400ex weighs around 375lbs., and a 85 can't be much more than 150lbs if that. You do the math.

And the Warrior comment is a joke, considering a Warrior barely puts out low 20's.
