Default Help With my 400ex

I put the 426 big bore kit in my EX and a stage 1 Hotcam. And i tapped out the studs in the motor and made the bolts bigger b/c it kept blowing head gaskets. I have put prolly 3-5hours on the motor since then. I was using 93 octane gas and then i filled it up with 87 gas. Now every time i gun the throttle it makes a ticking sound in the motor. Is this b/c of the gas or something else?
