Default Parking break question

what is the point of removing the parking break? i always thought it was to cut down on weight for those hardcore drag racers, where every ounce is shaved. but, i think i may be wrong. anyone have any answers?

Default Parking break question

It's BRAKE, not break.......

Well, on my high end sport quads my parking brakes always quits working well after a while anyway. No amount of adjusting the cable, etc. seems to help, so what's the use of having it on there anyway?

On a manual trans left hand clutch machine, you can just stall it in a low gear if you get into trouble on a hill or something and that will hold you, so a parking brake isn't exactly a necessity. One exception might be a kick start 450R, where it would be nice to set the brake while you have to be kicking it over if you are on a hillside....
