hi, im new to the forum. i have a few questions on mods for a 2006 trx250ex.i need tires that are good in hard sand and soft sand because in massachusetts the temp changesand the sand hardens and softens. 2nd is the fmf megamax a good exhaust? 3rd airfilter, uni or k@n or w/b powerfilter? lastly do i need to rejet, i dont ride any higher than 1000 ft

Hey, I have a 2003 250ex and I have a fmf megamax in the mail right now. There is a megamax on my moms 250ex and I like it, it sounds good, and looks pretty cool. Im gonna probably put as least as possible discs in because it produces more horsepower and sounds awesome. Theres also the quiet core you can take out. I'll probably take that out too. I think FMF has stopped making the megamax's though. You can still buy them at some places though. I got mine from Onoffroad.com for only $164.75 plus shipping(10 bucks). This was the best deal I found. I also have a UNI air filter. If your gonna ride in sandy conditions, i'd reccomend the UNI. I ride in the dirt/dusty conditions. I've heard some bad things about the K&N letting to much junk in your engine and that can ruin your engine. Good luck with everything!

im not into fmf, but i saw the pic of that fmf yall are talkin about, and i noticed there wasnt a hole, i know that sounds really dumb and it sounds like im new to atvs period, but ive been riding them for years and never seen or come across a muffler like that., im used to pipes having a hole for the exhaust to come out, mabye someone can help me out here.

 

thx for the info bacon bits, il definetely buy the megamax wen i convince my dad to let me get it.(he thinks they make to much noise, but i know u can make it quieter). i was also leaning towards the uni because i heard bad stuff bout the k@n also.


Frantic i think there isnt a hole because that is the quiet core insert?
