Default 450r,250r, or yfz??

ok heres is where i am at. I have rode all three ATVs. The problem is that i like all of them. I am a pretty experienced rider i mean i have raced since 13 yrs old. If it was up to me i would go out a buy a new 450r, but it is up to my wallet. I was also wondering if, i took very good care of the 250r then would i have very much motor trouble b/c i take care of my atvs. anyone have any advice for me?

If you take care of it then you shouldn't have any problems other then regular maintanance...If you can pick up a leftover 450r you can most liekly get a deal on it.

I have checked that and i cant find a 450 of yamaha or honda that is uder 3,500. I am pretty much on a 3,500 or so budget, so i need a good deal. I have looked at 250r that will sell for under 3,000 and they are modded from motor to brake lines. Then again that raises the realibilty question. Im between a rock and a hard spot.

usually i would say get the 250r because that is what i would take because it is a 2stroke. but i dont know they dont have nearly enough power compared to the 450s. the trx 450r is the fastest of the 450s. in ur case that is what i would get.

You might be able to take care of a 250r, BUT what about the last owner(s)? Those things are from 21 to 18 years old. The 250's I have ridden are really showing that fact.

Another thing is that with 2 strokes normal maintainance is an engine rebuild after about 1 or 2 years. I would say get the 450r, I wouldnt trade it for any other quad. Also, just be patient and keep an eye out for deals on the 450's. we got my 450r for $4500 but it only had 1 hour on it and it had everything it has on it now. And plus i got a 2 year warranty. Just keep your eyes peeled, also fall and winter would be the best time for deals. Dont know if you wanna wait that long or not. Ill let you know if I see anything for ya.

You've been racing since you were 13, and you don't know which one to get? What were you racing? Did the term ATV even apply to it?

I'm sorry, I don't mean to sound rude. But, if you've been racing since you were 13, why are you asking strangers for their opinions as to what you should get? Didn't you speak to anyone else at the tracks?

Unless you are still 13, you may have missed the best resources for this question.

When i said i had been racing since i was 13 i was saying that to show you guys that i knew how to ride. I was asking your guys opinion b/c i have never owned a 450 or a 250r, and if you have ever been to the track then you will know that those guys are mostly rich and they will tell you to go out and buy a brand new 450. but since im not rich then i cant really listen to them. and thanks for everyones opinions so far. im starting to lean toward the 250r b/c of the cheapness and b/c if it is cheap then i will have money left over to repair it with.

Tractor I understand I would only buy one if the engine and rest of the quad was solid or else you will be dumping money into the quad and will be spending more then planned on...488r nice quad I like the graphics and frameI wonder where I have seen one like that...If you are patient enough I would wait to get a 450r that is a leftover or is used and well taken care of, same applies for a 250r...Well wish ya luck
