I have two 250 Fourtrax, for the wife and myself.

I am some 230lbs and I am having a riot on these little bikes that can go anywhere, never break and cost very little to operate.

A beginner bike - for sure.

Get tired of it?? That depends on the rider.
-If you want to race - get something bigger.
-If you want to tool around on the trails and enjoy the ride - It's a great bike, enjoy.

Too Much Power with an inexperianced rider, has killed too many people.

Take your time and learn, How to Ride.
There is time to be foolish later.

im 15 as well, have a 250 recon, pretty much the same as the 250ex. the recon was my first quad, i bought it when i was 13. ive gotten a little bigger and more experienced. so now im selling it and getting a bigger quad a 450 grizzly, a 250 is a great beginner. i say its fine though. you can save and get bigger when you feel you want to upgrade

I have to agree with BAIR. I have a 07 TRX250EX and it all depends on your riding intentions. If your going to race, you should probably get something bigger. If your just trail riding and want to have fun without spending a fortune, the TRX250EX is perfect. I'm 5'11", 165lbs and the 250 has plenty of power to pull me around.

Bair, if you didnt know, a 250"x" and a 250"ex" are to different things. A 250x is a older model of the 300ex. By the way FWG, a 250ex can hold up to 243lbs as it says on my '03.Im 13, 5'5', 130lbs, and I like my 250ex. I've only got a UNI filter as far as engine mods. Get a HMF pipe, jets, UNI air filter, and it will open it up! I plan on buying myself an HMF in the future. But I think you'd be better starting off on a 300ex. The 2007's are awesome. They also updated the plastics, and the reverse mechanism. And about racing, the 300ex is perfect for that too. Good luck on your decision....
