450R Oil...why you need to change it so often...

Some oil wisdom here! This reference contains a great explanation (fuel blow-by because of that short piston) of why you need to change your oil so often, and why you need the high pressure additives only found in motorcycle specific oils (especially in your transmission), and film strength!
While I am a Maxima Extra user, and not a big fan of Bel-Ray products (I prefer 100% ester based synthetic oils to the blends that Bel-Ray uses), this is still great information:<a href="http://www.belray.com/scripts/futurearts.dll?CollectBinaryData?loc=belray&coid=5 5180&moid=20156&fauuid=9bb627d2-2fd9-48b6-965a-08bf7a767444">

I think a lot of folks are mystified as to why these machines need more frequent oil changes. The logical explanation is that they are high rpm, so they toast the oil quicker, but this makes even more sense...hope it helps motivate someone!
