just wondering what is the fastest four stroke you can buy on the market today?

yfz450
trx450r
400ex
raptor 660

and none of them seem as fast as the 2 stroke banshee to me.

i own a 450r and love it but my older bro wants to buy "the fastest four stroke on the market"

is it the suzuki 450?
raptor 700?
or?

does the raptor 700 have the handling and suspension of the 450's?

It really depends on what you mean by "the fastest". You can gear any quad to go faster than it does when you get it stock. You can also gear any quad to have less top speed and more low end torque. I think you need to take more into consideration than "fastest" when buying a quad. I personally look for a powerplant that I know has enough juice to move my fat a$$ around without any problems. After that it's comfort and suspension. Tell your brother that any of the big bore 4 strokes are gonna have the "go-fast" he's looking for, it' just depends on motor stability and comfort after that.

 

i dont think you understand, he rode a tricked out banshee once and now compares everything to that, he wants one that he says is scary fast just insanely fast, my 450r just doesnt do it for him, and it is geared down, has hrc kit and more.

i hear the new raptor 700 is pretty dang fast but havent raced it, i also hear the suzuki 450 will blow mine away but havent rced it either, if thoe bike wont do i think hes waiting for the new four stroke 500cc banshee to come out.

i dunno, the raptor 700 isnt much faster (if at all) than a 450r, I'm thinkin the 450r is gonna be the best bet. Does he want the fastest STOCK quad, or the fastest after upgrades? like trx450rider said, theres a lot more to it than just "the fastest" it depends what kind of mods he's planning on doing, etc. I personally dont think you're gonna find a quad as fast as a modified banshee, at least nothing thats gonna be practical to ride for the day and have fun without the engine going to pot.

 

I guess you weren't getting my point. I was trying to say that modding any quad can get it to do what you want. A tricked out Banshee is about the fastest thing you're going to come across. The powerband kicks in and you're gone. A four stroke uses it's power in a very different way. To get a four stroke to even compare to the banshee, you're talking multiple engine mods and more than likely modified gearing. My main point is that all of the big bore 4 strokes are so close to top speeds and torque that your biggest question should be, which one looks best and feels best. Then it's all a matter of how much $$ you want to drop on it.

 

The Polaris KTM 525 outlaw is the fastest production quad made. It will out accelerate any stock quad. Yamaha is comming out with a twin 500cc 4 stroke banshee thats supposed to be pretty sick.

 

not to get off the subject, but i thought the 250r was the fasted quad made?right or wrong? just curious

I believe the fastest production quad currently on the market is the Can Am Renegade 800.

 

the suzuki LT-500 2 stroke was the fastest bike ever produced. It would hit 90mph stock.
