Default Rubicon Knock Again??

Well, just spoke to another Honda dealer in my area, they don't seem to think a "stretched" chain could be causing my problem......aughhhhhh!!!

Default Rubicon Knock Again??

I am a Honda tech, and own a 02 rubicon, it has over 15000 miles on it. I bought it cause the tranny was out and the oil pump.

It only knocks for awhile when it warmed up and you restart it. Is it a knock or the decompressor stuck on for awhile. If that is the case the exhaust valves are set too tight, a loose '009" and a tight '010". Other possible thing would be that the wrist pin lands on the piston are scored. That makes the piston not able to rock back and forth as it goes up and down.

If your not happy take it back before the 30 days are up.

Cluby, I did take it back. The dealer doesn't know what's wrong with it, without tearing it down again. The dealer is kinda of a jerk to deal with, so if I do it, I pay for it. The first time they had it apart, they claimed the piston was in excellent condition, no scoring anywhere. They just put in a new cam that had a new compressor on it.

Well I would make it clear to them that they did NOT fix the problem totaly. Takes a good tech to find all of the problems not just the first thing that they see.
