Default 12v power socket on Rancher 420

I found a 12v power socket at Radio Shack for $7.99 that was just what I was looking for, a small black plastic unit with a rubber cap to keep dirt and water out when not in use. Now I can plug in my old hand-held GPS and not worry about the Double A's running down after 8 hours. I've put up a few photos installing it at http://codysguide.com/atv2007/12vPowerSocket/.

Angler, that's a Honda hour meter/tachometer which I added as soon as I got it home. You can see my post for that under the topic Hour Meter Installed on 2007 Rancher TRX420FM , or jump directly to the photos here .

And to reply to SpinalTap's comment, I think it's safe to say Honda's decision to leave off items like a 12v power port, nor even an hour meter on the manual shift, shows how far they went to keep the price down after making so many upgrades over the previous model year ... and the dealers can make make a little more adding these accessories for you.

Very nice and clean install on both the winch and the 12V outlet. I plan on getting my Rancher in about 3 months and have been torn between getting the ES model with all the gadgets ( and possible glitches and problems) and the foot shift FM like i had on my previous Forman's with absolute reliability.

Your fix might just be the way to go for me, get the Standard model and mount my Garmin CSX and an hour meter on it to take care of the gadget addiction.
