Fast453ex, I have a 440 kit with ported and polished head, with XR400 cam, with 10.8:1 JE piston, Curtis Sparks Complete exhaust and CDI, K&N, Modified Air Box Lid and the proper jetting. We also make and special manual work to the piston and wristpin to take out all the extra weight from them, and at the end their weight was the same that a stock piston and wristpin, so it should rev really fast.
But, I'm in the same situation that you, I'm not satisfy, the machine rev fast, and have plenty of torque, but something is missing. And I know for sure that I need a better, bigger CARB.
I have been told that it will make a big improve in my setup.
But I need some back up of what everybody thinks is the best for it. I have to think twice before spend almost 400 bucks in a 39 FCR.
CAN SOMEONE HELP US WITH THAT??
THANKS.

I put a Lectron on my 400EX last summer and to tell you the truth i didn't notice a "world" of difference. It pulls a little harder. Mine has to get leaned out a little more though, because i even removed the whole airbox assembly, and my plug is still a little bit too black. I also don't like the way you have to "make" your Lectron fit. Good price, but i kinda wish i would have waited and got the FCR39mm.

Well, I'm agree what we need is a better, bigger carb.
I just saw yesterday that carb. I mean, in the February 2001 ATVSport magazine, they make a review of the psiperformance 250R Genesis Kit, and they are using a 32mm x 40mm Genesis Big Air Carb, and don't have jets, or require disassembly for adjustment.
"All they require is an allen wrench on a 25 clicker adjustment that moves the needle up and down a total of .250 inches".

I don't know how it work on a four stroke engine, they are testing it in a 250R.
