I just got my gps and tried it out. The top speed of my Recon is 46.0 even. Bone stock...anything I could do to it to make it faster? And how much faster would it be?

OK here ya go. You can hit 50 mph for free!! You must be excited. Just inflate all tires to 30 psi, remove the racks, plastics, muffler, and air box lid. It worked on my old TRX250 utility quad, except that went 35, after mods 41!!!! LOL, this is funny I know, but I'm honest, try it out.

my EX gained 8 mph with the same gears when I gave it more power. I bet you'd gain a couple mph, maybe over 50! Thomas, more power with add more speed because it will wind it out higher, unless it;s hitting the limiter already(doubtful), take her on blacktop and air the tires way uip, less rolling resistance and taller tires-more speed! How do you know how fast your going, I have a 20 dollar digital speedo I love, my best now is 86.2 mph, thats almost scarin me.

Top speed on the Recon so far is 46 mph measured on the digital speedometer of the Rancher.

More speed? Taller tires, pipe, K&N, carb kit, this will help a little.

well fast453ex, he is taking about a recon and not a ex, and besides that it can't make your ex wind out more cuz it has a rev limiter. i garente you that if you put a pipe on a recon you would not notice a speed difference at all.

They can be accurate but it depends on conditions. Two weeks ago I set a new top speed with my Recon and GPS of 160 MPH. But that was in the dense woods with the GPS in my pocket so I think the GPS got confused with the signals. However when I take the GPS and strap it to the bike in the open and do several passes on an open road the results are always within 1/10 MPH of each other so I would say that they are accurate within an acceptible level.
