STARTING 3000EX IN REVERSE!!
#3
Do you mean to be able to start it while in reverse or to run the engine in reverse? dont try to run a 4 stroke in reverse, the cam chain really doesnt approve and it wont get fuel anyways because the carb will now be the exahust system. The only engines I have seen run in reverse is a old air cooled (running the water pump on liquid cooled engines backwards isnt cool either) is my old 1980 CR80R 2 stroker as when I let out the clutch when backing down a hill it stared up and I didnt know it was running backwards until I went to take off and the bike lanched backwards takeing my ***** out! My nebors Diesel tractor also started backwards when he dumped the clutch coasting backwards and it put the exahust out the aircleaner and sucked clean air in from the pipe, he freaked out and coundnt figure it out until I was finally able to stop laughing to tell him.

I AM TALKING ABOUT STARTING IT IN REVERSE BECAUSE WHEN IM DONE RIDDING I PULL IT IN THE GARAGE AND IN THE MORNING I GO OUT THERE AND FIRE IT UP BUT WHEN I TRY TO PUT IT IN REVERSE IT DIES UNLESS I FULL THROTTLE THE GAS FOR A SECOND AND HURRY AND TRY TO PUT IT IN REVERSE. I JUST READ ON SOME REPLYS THAT SOME PEOPLE HAVE THERE EX'S REWIRED TO START IN REVERSE AND I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE EASIER.

I asked the same question on another forum and here is the response I got. I never actually tried to do this though. I hope it helps.
On the right side of the motor you will see 2 wires, i think they are under a little cover.
You just have to take those wires and ground one of them to the frame. One remains plugged in and the other is grounded.
Unsure on which is which, just try it either way.
