What kind of tools are involved and are any special tools needed for the job? I would rather rebuild it myself but then again I think while I have the starter off go ahead and slap a new starter on. Is a rebuilt starter just like a new starter? Where would I buy the kit to rebuild it? Thanks for all the help, Gimpster. And I might take you up on walking me through it.

I also checked on prices for new starters and the cheapest one I found was 75 dollars plus shipping. I only checked 3 or 4 places on the internet though. I may give some dealers a call and see what they say.

 

75 is a pretty good price.
I never had time to check the starter price today through Honda.

Probably should grab the new starter and run.
