Well to do it right it's not cheap , but there are machine shop's now that can weld with aluminum ; i saw a show on TNN Motor Sports where they used speacial aluminum welding rod's to weld cracked head's and aluminum engine block's ! I had to repair the alminum mounting brace that hold's the power steering pump in place ; i was working on my nefew's lawnmower at the time. And i let him put a waterpump on my truck for payment of me doing a valve job on his mower , he tighted a few bolt's before getting all the bolt's started ; when he got the last bolt he got it in bind breaking the bolt hole that went through the water pump ! The cost for this simple mistake was $50.00 just to weld this small peice with the bolt hole to the almuinum brace ! It didn't take a few second's to weld the tab back on the brace , but the minimum charge was $50.00 wheather it took 1 hour or 1 second ; sorry for the long reply ; but it can be mended with this type welder and it will break in a different place before it break's in the spot that was welded ! williebee
