You know I thought that last winter when I rode my friends X in the snow with Holeshots. But this year I have a new set on mine and they go great!

The grab bar thing works great. In thick snow, I ride like that, with one foot on the grab bar. When it starts to have problems, I just start bouncing the back end up and down a bit. (Just don't be like my wife. She started slowing down, getting into the thicker snow, and wasn't sure if she'd make it through. So she STOPPED, to think about what to do!) DUH

With the 300, I had the same problem. I think it's a combo of not enough power and weight. I had to run the Maxxis AllTraxx. It went pretty good with them on. But as soon as the snow is gone, put back on the holeshots or something else. I ate up bearings while running the Alltraxx all year round.

On my 400, I have NO problem going through the snow with the stock tires, so it's not those tires.

i had a 300 3x4 utility, it didn't do the best in the snow, the weight caused it to dig into the deep snow. I have 400ex now and as long as you keep moving it stays on top of the snow, if you bog or slow down then it will did, and thats when you have to get off and lift it out of the ruts

well i'm from Jersey and we just got womped with snow. I measured 14 inches and i had mine out. I think that tires don't really matter. Just put your knee down on the seat and put your weight on the rear of your quad. it should dig in. But just get realtors if you don't want to do that

I still say if you put a set of chains on there it would help you more then changing your tires, and it cheaper. I went riding in 15-20 inches of snow. I had to make the path sometimes just cause I was in front. Even up hill. Tires alone will not grab ice, which tends to be under snow. There is a downside though, they seem to be killing my bearings.

the paddle are a good idea for really deep snow like 12+ inches but other than that just use putting all your weight to the back with some 25 inch alltrack tires there are too heavey and you wont loose too much spped with them in the snow
