Any 400ex owners have the k&n power kit? Is it worth the money? Does the jet kit make for worse fuel milage? I go on long rides. I put on 22 inch tires and need more snap and power. I may also install a 14 tooth c/s sproket or 40 tooth rear.

jet kits are a waste of money in my opinion..if you want a K&N, just buy the filter and run OEM style jets.

 

If you have the money I'd say go for it if not just find out what main jet you need then buy it separatly.

How do you like your Maier hand guards for the 400ex? I am thinking about getting the Maier's or the Moose ones.

 

Yes it is worth the money in my opinion. I installed one on my 01 Wolverine and it helped alot.......we are only talking 50 bucks. The needle is what helps so much not the jet, K&N has done alot of research and development into there dyno kits.

 

Paulgsch, I like my handguards a lot. well worth the money, especially if you trail ride a lot. I think it looks better to with the handguards. I got red ones. I paid $45 for them(Candian money). they are pretty stiff and save your hands a lot.
good investment in my opinion.

 

Big waste of money. If you have any mechanical ability, just buy a k@n filter and jet it yourself.
