I have a Honda 250EX and just this weekend I have been having throttle response issues. I had a thumb throttle that broke and we replaced it with the stock throttle and for some reson my quad runs great for a bit and then it bogs out in 1st going into 2nd gear. It almost sounds like it is'nt getting enough air or its choked out?? When I have the throttle full excell it will bog down like it can't get the full accel. We checked the gas thinking bad gas. Air filter is dry and clean and the new throttle works!!?? But it's still bogging. Please someone help. I got stuck on a hill trying to climb in 2nd (which I always climb in) & it bogged and died in mid hill!! I need some advice on what this problem might be.

Clean the carb, and pay patricular attention to being sure none of the jets are clogged.

 

Thanks, we just cleaned it all up and that's something we payed special attention to also. My throttle cable does need replace so I'm cking w/ ebay for a cheap one.

yea it could be holding gas back like recon said or it might not be warmed up cuz i have a trx 250ex and it did it today and then worked fine after
