If your into sport riding, you'd probably be better off and get the 300EX. If your wallet will allow it, get the 400 now, and kill 2 birds with one stone.

get a 300ex..

ride it for awhile and trade it in if you still feel you need more power.

if you'r into sport riding get the 300ex and by the time you are ready to get a 400ex you will be good on the clutch and more advanced.

I'm allready great with a clutch, my uncles got a 400ex, we own a 300ex, i owned a dirt bike for a year, i ride my friends warrior and did ride my friends blaster till he got rid of it. The only thing is that i gues i didn't get my ? out to straight. Its going to take me a year before i can get a 300 or 400. I was just wondering if i should pute anything else into my machine and keep it for a while or don't pute anything into it and in a year get a 300 or 400

your best bet is to probably keep the recon until you can afford a 400Ex that way if you trade it in you will make more on trade sport/utility machines seem to sell better than just pure sport anyway its just a thought
