2002 Honda 400ex clutch problem
#1
hey,
The other day I was going out to do some riding but when I squeezed in the clutch lever it wouldn't really move. So I squeezed a little harder and sounded like something snapped but nothing did. The problem no is that the wire that connects the lever to the clutch has gotten really loose. As of now when I squeeze in the lever it doesn't really doesn't do anything. The wire moves a little but not enough to engage the clutch. So how would I go about tightening it. I've already tried to set the screw on the lever as far out as possible but it still doesn't do anything. There is just way to much slack on the clutch wire. So any suggestions right now would be great.
Thanks
Ryan

check the other end of the cable as you squeeze it. its on the right side of the engine just below the exhaust heat shield. you can also adjust it there with a couple of 12mm wrenches. check this out and tell us what you find.

no dice....did what you said and didnt really help. Took off the whole cable to check it and found out that most of the wire near the bottom was shredded, couldn't ever move the wire if i tried pulling on it. So I'm just gonna buy a new cable for like 12 bucks. Thanks for the advice though, I appreciate it.
