So,
Alot of you guys are recommending removing the airbox lid. Now, you guys are removing this and leaving it removed ? Doesn't this allow alot of dirt and stuff get into it ?
Any you guys are running a twin air or uni filter with the removed airbox lid without any problems ?
Thanks,
D.

When I pull my spark arrestor out, my "baffle" comes out with it . Or am I looking at the wrong thing ? What I am calling the baffle, is enclosed inside the spark arrestor screen.
All I see when looking into the pipe with the spark arrestor assy removed is the hollow "core" which leads to the headpipe.
Thanks,
D.

Modifying the exhaust and modifying the airbox go hand in hand, as mentioned earlier. Your air filter isn't as restrictive as your airbox lid, plus, removing it is a free mod. You will get a significant amount of dirt on it though. I sealed mine off with low density foam around the sides and silly-coned a screen over the top of a lid that I had cut. It helps a little. The best thing would be a K&N filter lid which sells for about $100.

You can also buy an air lid off ebay, and modify it with holes or slots, and cover those holes and slots with the 'wool' from a furnace air filter. Cheap, and gets the job done, and lets lots of air in, and not alot more dirt and dust than the stock system does.
