I have a 1988 Honda TRX 350D. It starts fine then idles for about 10 seconds then without touching the throttle or anything it starts to rev then shuts off. Any idea what could cause this?

 

Can you feel the fuel pump clicking when you lay your fingers across it ..?

 

When it was running I couldnt feel anything but when it would start to rev and quit I could feel the clicking.

 

I had the same problem with mine. The throttle valve came loose from the throttle valve arm. The screws that hold the arm to the valve backed out and the valve wouldn't allow enough gas into the carb to run except at idle. Just remove the intake piping and remove the 3 screws from the top of the carb top plate. Then see if the screws came out.

 

I will check that, But I can start and go but it dies at about the same time wether its idleing or moving I get that small rev then dead.

 

mine did that . change the fuel filter . and blow back through the petcock to make sure its not clogged..

 

i recently bought 1986 trx 350 $900 borrowed money 43.00 month back 2500.00 but ill go anywhere i point it put new 589 brakes biggunn already had new pump my buddy has big bear350 10 spead braggs braggs buti usually pull him out of swamp till he overreved in low 1 and broke rearend he dont bragg as much now so he sent his nephews 600 grizz mudzilla bike overdone good till hit budweiser swamp i pulled him out belt slipped took about 30 min to dry and drain trx 350 rules im 350lbs cant even tell on it
