Honda 440ex vs. a Piped 660R, comparable?

I've ridden a stock 400EX and a piped 660R before a few years ago. I liked the ride and handline of the 400EX, loved how I could just fling it around and it felt really natural. I also rode a piped 660R Raptor at the same time and was very impressed at the power and how it felt like I was toying with the person on the 400EX power wise. I also rode a piped banshee that day, none of them compared to the piped, ported, and shaved jug Tri-Z my brother use to have years ago (that thing was insane) but the raptor and banshee for surely stuck out as the ones that has more power.
With that said, I'm looking into a 400EX that has the following listed for it:
"2002 honda 400ex very good shape has new itp wheels and tires, hmf exhaust, jets, wiseco 440 big bore kit, stage 2 hot cam, done by a professional machine shop this atv is a torque monster very fast and strong"
With those specs do you think it might be comparable to the 660R with a pipe on it? I ask for I'd love to have the 400EX chassis with comparable power of the 660R on the trails. I know the 660 is a lot bigger but I don't know what the big bore kit does to the 400EX and the stage 2 hot cam maybe makes it really torquey and the 660R with the pipe on it had a really good low end grunt that I loved and it revved out nice as well.
Anybody riden anything similar to what I am comparing above?

hmmm...I've heard 440 kits blow head gaskets and cause trouble but nothing of hotcams. Don't know. I dragged a stock 660 on my 426ex, got the jump on him and he couldnt catch me makes me think a heavier modded ex could take a piped 660.

Trouble in so far as they weren't ground right, cause valvetrain issues? Is the PTV really close or something? I know it's just what you heard, just trying to find out more specific issues.
I'm more so pushing towards a 660R with a pipe and just learn to work with the chassis for the power is just so much fun. What gets me is the Banshee I rode that same day wasn't aligned right up front for some stuff was bent and it handled a lot better. If I could only get a banshee chassis with a Raptor 660R drivetrain! :-)

Trouble in so far as they weren't ground right, cause valvetrain issues? Is the PTV really close or something? I know it's just what you heard, just trying to find out more specific issues.

Cool, good info to know. Were you and the other guy about the same size? I noticed the piped raptor makes a big difference though for there was two raptors there and my brother rode both. One stock and one had a pipe.
Hmm, dang, I can replace a head gasket if need be, that damn Honda 400EX chassis handles so well for what I want to do... this is a hard decision to make dang it!

Heh, no we were not the same size he's about 5'10 140 i'm 6'2" 240. Like i said I did get the jump on him. If i didnt he would of got me but not by much. A cam'd 440 should smoke him. The 400ex is a good solid air cooled machine. It is also the trail king as far as I'm concerned (even with lack of reverse on older models). If your trying to choose between 400ex and 660. I'd say the fact that it has a 440kit counts against it in my book, as i said I've heard lots about blowing head gaskets.

If you get the 400ex stick in a webcam instead of the Hotcam. I built a 440 for a friend of mine ported and polished the intake re-jetted it and installed a K&N filter with air box lid off, also got the head shaved .30 and I can tell you a piped Raptor wouldn't stand a chance against it.
