Is it worth it
Recently my brother was riding my old 250ex at pismo and it died. We took it in and it turned out the bike has been burning oil and it eventually ran out, and now we're stuck with a 250ex with a blown engine. The bike is a 2003 in fair condition, Its been rolled once (the only damage are some scratches on the plastic) and we have been quoted it will be between 1 to 2 thousand $ to fix it (and its always the higher one). My question is, is it worth it to fix, or should we just get a new bike? The more we look around, the more it seems like we should replace it, like the other day we saw them advertising 2007 250ex's for only $2700. What do you guys think?

They dont know if the crank is damaged, that is why it could be more expensive. And yea you would think they could just get a whole knew engine for that price but i dont know. Another thing that was really strange was that they said the engine seized, but that is totally wrong, because the bike is sitting in my driveway right now and it turns over with no problem what so ever, it just has no compression. And you cant really compare the price for a new top end on a banshee to a four stroke, because for some reason 2 strokes are super cheap to rebuild, i guess because they go through so many engines.
